THE 12 FINALISTS OF THE WORLD'S MOST IMPORTANT SOUNDTRACK COMPETITION SELECTED

A contest that rewards the best soundtrack for a short film with 50,000 euros and that in this edition has had the participation of 153 works of young composers from 28 nationalities. 

These are the 12 finalist compositions of the Gil Soundtrack Award 2022:

The winner of the Gil Soundtrack Award 2020 will be announced on 29 October. Alejandro Amenábar, winner of an Oscar and 7 Goyas, filmmaker and composer of film soundtracks, is the president of the jury for this edition and will present the award on 1 December in Madrid. The 2022 jury has been completed with the prestigious conductor Constantino Martínez-Orts (conductor of the Film Symphony Orchestra), the renowned composers Lucio Godoy and Roque Baños together with Juan Gil Vera, member of the Gil Family and promoter of the contest.

The short film "Lo que siembras" (What you saw"), chosen in this edition to compose its soundtrack, was selected from a previous script competition in collaboration with the ESCAC (Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya) and produced by the same with a team made up entirely of students and graduates of the school. A story full of emotions and feelings that represents the values of the Gil family, values such as tradition and the fact that the important thing is to be able to be part of a family even if you were not born into it. 

The prize of 50,000 euros for the winner is destined to complete the winner's musical career. This international award, the only one of its kind in the world, aims to promote and highlight the work and talent of young composers.
